I am told that a LOT of Indian students are trying to participate in this year's Google Summer of Code. That's really great! The sad thing is that many of them are making fools of themselves by childish behaviour ... and more seriously, giving a bad name to Indian students in general. If you have friends applying for GSOC, please ask them to read what Mobin has written

Its good news that many Indian students are participating. I have found some really good students interested in GSOC. However, I fear that they might not be selected because of the multitude of participants. I hope they get selected and the enthusiasm in them persists.
